Physical Examination

SKIN TYPE

The phototype is a classification of different skin types according to their sensitivity and reactivity to the sun.

Phototype V2
I - Very fair skin
Blond or red hair, Blue or green eyes, Systematic sunburns, Skin never tans

II - Fair skin
Likely to have light hair Blue to clear brown eyes, Frequent sunburns, Tans poorly

III - Intermediate skin
Dark hair, Brown eyes some have green eyes, Occasional sunburns, Tans quite easily
IV - Tanned skin
Brown to black hair and eyes, Occasional sunburns with very lengthy exposures, Always tans easily

V - Brown to dark skin
Brown eyes and dark hair, Burns only with excessive exposure, Skin easily tans

VI - Black skin
Dark brown eyes, Black hair, Burns only with extreme exposure

The skin is covered with a hydrolipidic film, made from sebum and water. It is the quantity and quality of this hydrolipidic film that determines the type of skin.

Sensitive skin is define as skin that under the action of various factors, tend to become prone to discomfort, itching, tightness, sometimes associated with dryness and redness

Wrinkles are folds or ridges in the skin. They naturally appear as people get older.

Acne Prone

Acne-prone skin is skin that shows a propensity to develop blackheads and pimples. The skin is often plump and shiny.

Atopic Predisposition means that you have a predisposition to develop allergies or has in your life since childhood experienced an allergy such as asthma, eczema, rhinitis, hay fever, allergy to dust, etc.

SKIN PIGMENTATION

HPI

Hyperpigmentation Post-Inflammatoire. Occurs following skin injury or inflammation when skin is left darkened and discoloured

Melasma

Melasma is a common pigmentation disorder that causes brown or gray patches to appear on the skin, primarily on the face

Examples : hair dye, Keratin treatments, Permanent straightening or perming, etc..
